The inauguration ceremony of MareNostrum 5, the latest EuroHPC JU pre-exascale supercomputer, hosted by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, will take place on 21 December at the Auditorium of the Vertex Building, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in Barcelona. Attendance to the ceremony will be restricted and by direct invitation. Nevertheless, the event will be openly broadcasted.
MareNostrum 5 will provide European scientists and industry with access to a wide range of state-of-the-art HPC infrastructure and services, including a general-purpose partition, an accelerated partition, and next-generation technologies, designed to serve all fields of science.
This new supercomputer, which will be one of the most powerful in Europe, will provide an excellent environment for large-scale simulations, such as those used in artificial intelligence, enabling researchers and users to solve problems related to medical research, natural language applications or digital twins.
